Dubai, UAE | One&Only The Palm

Dubai Across the Water

The appeal of One&Only The Palm begins with its position. From the western end of Palm Jumeirah’s crescent, Dubai’s towers form a skyline across the water, while the immediate surroundings are gardens, pale façades and a private beach. The city remains visible, but the resort gives a stay a different pace: breakfast beside the pool, an afternoon at Guerlain Spa and an evening devoted to French cooking at STAY by Yannick Alléno.

For couples, the attraction is privacy without retreating far from Dubai’s restaurants and cultural attractions. For families, it is the combination of connecting accommodation, substantial villas and a resort that can support several days spent largely outdoors. The distinction matters when choosing among the city’s hotels. One&Only The Palm suits travelers who want the beach to anchor the trip, with visits into the city arranged around it.

Its location also rewards realistic planning. This is the end of the crescent, rather than the mainland waterfront, so driving times deserve more consideration than a glance across the bay might suggest.

A Smaller Chapter in Dubai’s Resort Story

Opened in October 2010, One&Only The Palm extended Kerzner International’s presence in Dubai with a comparatively intimate beach resort. Its development came during the emergence of Palm Jumeirah as a destination in its own right, but the hotel’s architecture adopted a low-rise, residential approach.

The central Manor House, six beach-facing mansions and standalone villas give the property several distinct settings. Staying near the main building places restaurants and the principal pool close at hand; choosing the beachfront accommodation shifts the emphasis toward gardens, terraces and the shore.

That arrangement remains the foundation of its identity. The resort belongs to a thoroughly contemporary Dubai, yet its courtyards and sheltered outdoor spaces draw on an architectural language developed for warmer climates long before the surrounding skyline existed.

Andalusian Lines Along the Crescent

Designed by DSA Architects and WA International, the resort draws inspiration from Moorish and Andalusian architecture, including the Alhambra. Horseshoe arches, decorative screens and water features give the buildings their rhythm. At the entrance, vaulted forms lead into a bright lobby, where marble and intricate white detailing make an impression through pattern and light.

Outside, planting softens the transitions between buildings. The Grand Pool provides a broad central gathering place, while the spa courtyard creates a more enclosed setting. These spaces have different moods, making it possible to move from sociable resort life to quieter corners without leaving the grounds.

Inside the accommodation, neutral tones provide a background for patterned textiles, carved details and generous bathrooms. Balconies and terraces are integral to the experience. Their orientation deserves attention: a garden outlook, proximity to the beach and a broad water view are different qualities, and a category’s beachfront location does not guarantee the same panorama from every room.

From Manor Rooms to Private Beachfront Villas

The collection moves from Premier rooms and connecting family arrangements through junior and executive suites to the Grand Palm suites and private villas. Approximate sizes below refer to interiors; private pools and outdoor areas are additional unless otherwise specified.

  • Palm Manor Premier Room: Approximately 700 sq. ft. in the main building, with a sitting area, balcony or garden patio, and a spacious bathroom with a separate bathtub and rain shower.

  • Beachfront Premier Room: Approximately 700 sq. ft. in the low-rise beach mansions, with a private balcony or patio and convenient access to the shore, with views varying by position.

  • Two-Bedroom Palm Manor Family Room: Approximately 1,399 sq. ft., joining two Premier rooms to provide two bedrooms and bathrooms, with garden or pool outlooks.

  • Two-Bedroom Beachfront Family Room: From approximately 1,399 sq. ft., with two bedrooms, generous bathrooms and a balcony or patio near the beach.

  • Beachfront Junior Suite: Approximately 1,076 sq. ft., with an open-plan bedroom and sitting area, a king bed, and a garden patio or balcony facing the beachfront setting.

  • Beachfront Junior Suite With Pool: Approximately 1,291 sq. ft., with a king bedroom and living space opening onto a private pool terrace with room for outdoor dining.

  • Palm Manor Executive Suite: Approximately 1,399 sq. ft., with a king bedroom, substantial living and dining space, and a private terrace in the Manor House.

  • Beachfront Executive Suite: Approximately 1,399 sq. ft., with a separate living area, king bedroom, and garden patio or balcony close to the sand.

  • Beachfront Executive Suite With Pool: Approximately 1,614 sq. ft., adding a private swimming pool and sun decks to a king bedroom and separate living, dining and workspace areas.

  • Two-Bedroom Beachfront Junior Suite: Approximately 1,776 sq. ft., combining accommodation to provide two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living spaces and two balconies.

  • Two-Bedroom Beachfront Junior Suite With Pool: Approximately 1,991 sq. ft., with two bedrooms, living spaces and a private pool beside a garden terrace for outdoor meals.

  • Two-Bedroom Manor Executive Suite: Approximately 2,099 sq. ft., combining an executive suite with a neighboring room to provide two bedrooms and two private terraces.

  • Grand Palm Suite: Approximately 2,691 sq. ft., with one king bedroom, separate living and dining areas, a kitchenette and a substantial terrace overlooking the pool setting.

  • Two-Bedroom Grand Palm Suite: Approximately 3,391 sq. ft. high in the Manor House, with two bedrooms, expansive entertaining areas, an eight-person dining table and two terraces.

  • Two-Bedroom Beachfront Villa: Approximately 3,498 sq. ft. across two levels, with two bedrooms, open-plan living and dining, a service kitchenette, private gardens and a temperature-controlled infinity pool.

  • Three-Bedroom Beachfront Villa: Approximately 4,574 sq. ft., with three bedrooms, a kitchenette, generous communal space, bedroom balconies and a private infinity pool just steps from the beach.

For a couple, the choice between a junior suite and an executive suite is principally about how much separation is wanted between sleeping and living. For a family or a longer stay, the villas offer a more independent setting, with space to dine together and spend time around a private pool. Connecting arrangements and exact bed configurations should be secured as part of the reservation.

French Precision and Poolside Italian Dining

Yannick Alléno’s influence gives the resort a distinctive culinary identity, with STAY providing its most focused expression. The restaurant retained two Michelin stars in the 2026 Dubai selection. Around it, the other venues support a less structured day, from breakfast to afternoon tea and poolside drinks.

  • STAY by Yannick Alléno: Modern French cooking, seasonal tasting menus and carefully developed sauces are served in a dramatic dining room, with the Pastry Library giving dessert particular attention.

  • ZEST: The all-day restaurant combines breakfast overlooking the Grand Pool with Italian lunches and dinners centered on pasta, pizza and other familiar dishes prepared for a relaxed meal.

  • Safina: This beachfront pool club serves Mediterranean-inspired food and drinks in a setting reserved for adults aged 21 and above.

  • The Lounge: A Manor House gathering place for coffee, afternoon tea, light bites and evening cocktails, with live piano performances adding to the atmosphere.

  • In-Room and Private Dining: Meals can be arranged in the accommodation, while private settings and villa dining allow a celebration to unfold on a more personal schedule.

The marina-side 101 venue is currently listed by the hotel as temporarily closed while it prepares a new experience. Its reopening should be confirmed before including it in dining plans. STAY also merits an advance reservation, particularly when a specific evening or dietary arrangement is important.

Guerlain Rituals Behind the Courtyard Walls

Guerlain Spa is one of the strongest reasons to spend time beyond the beach and main pool. Its courtyard approach, arches and water features establish a quieter setting before a treatment begins. The menu combines massage, facials and body treatments with experiences such as the Désert D’Orient Hammam.

For two people, the Oriental Suite brings together facilities for a couples’ hammam, a steam room and freestanding bathing. It is a considered choice for an anniversary afternoon or a longer treatment sequence, with enough time afterward to remain in the spa’s calmer surroundings.

Beauty services include the Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez and a hair salon. A fitness center supports independent workouts, personal training and private classes. Outside, the Grand Pool offers the main resort swimming setting, while adults seeking a different atmosphere can reserve time at Safina. The spa’s separate pool provides another quieter option; access arrangements should be coordinated with the treatment or day’s plans.

A Beach Base for the Creek and Desert

The resort’s experience collection makes it possible to alternate unhurried days on the crescent with a more revealing look at Dubai. Time on the water might mean a private cruise or a guided marine excursion, while the desert offers a different landscape and a connection to regional traditions.

A conservation-led outing can combine a vintage Land Rover journey, falconry and Emirati dining. An Old Dubai visit shifts the focus toward the Creek, souks and the city’s trading history. These are worthwhile counterpoints to the contemporary skyline seen from the hotel, particularly for a first visit that might otherwise concentrate entirely on newer landmarks.

On the property, swimming, tennis and scheduled activities can fill a day without requiring a formal excursion. Our team can help balance those options around the weather and the interests of the travelers, leaving enough time to enjoy the resort itself. A few well-chosen outings generally suit this address better than a schedule built around repeated cross-city journeys.

Space for Families, Quiet Corners for Adults

One&Only The Palm welcomes families, and its accommodation is a major part of that appeal. Two-bedroom family rooms offer a practical arrangement for parents and children; suites add living space, while the villas allow a larger group to spend time together with greater privacy.

KidsOnly provides a changing activity programme. The published schedule includes crafts, treasure hunts, games, cinema sessions and beach-based play, with registration required before activities. Our team can confirm the appropriate programme, supervision requirements and childcare arrangements for the ages traveling.

The Grand Pool welcomes all ages, while Safina’s 21-and-over policy gives adults a separate setting. That distinction allows a family holiday and a quieter couples’ stay to coexist within the same resort. For children around private villa or suite pools, accommodation selection and supervision remain important parts of planning.

Measured Progress on the Palm

One&Only The Palm holds EarthCheck Gold certification for 2026. Its published environmental and social policy describes an environmental management system, annual benchmarking and utility goals focused on energy, water and waste.

Those commitments provide a more useful basis for evaluating the resort than broad environmental claims. The policy also sets out an intention to support local employment and, where possible, source products and services locally according to fair-trade principles. These are stated operational priorities, rather than a promise that every purchase is local or that a stay has no environmental impact.

For travelers who consider sustainability alongside comfort and service, the combination of published objectives and independent certification offers a concrete point of reference.

Moving Between Manor House, Gardens and Beach

Listed access provisions include an elevator, wheelchair-accessible paths, a public washroom and restaurant access. Accommodation and routes still need to be matched to individual requirements, especially where terraces, beach access or a two-level villa are involved.

Our team can coordinate the details that matter before booking: the bedroom’s location, bathroom layout, thresholds and the route to dining and swimming facilities. Travelers using mobility equipment should also discuss transport and marina boarding arrangements in advance. Selecting a suitable room is more useful than relying on a general description of the resort as accessible.

Cooler Days and Long Evenings Outdoors

The cooler months, broadly November through March, are particularly appealing for beach time, outdoor dining and desert excursions. April and October can also work well for travelers comfortable with warmer days. Summer brings substantial heat and humidity, shifting the emphasis toward early swims, shaded spaces, spa appointments and indoor activities.

A year-round resort stay therefore changes character with the season. A private pool or generous living room may become more valuable when afternoons are spent close to the accommodation. Dining schedules, seasonal closures and activity timings should be reviewed for the intended dates, rather than assumed to remain the same throughout the year.

For a short visit, it is worth protecting at least one full day without a major outing. The setting is most persuasive when there is time to enjoy both the beach and the gradual change in the skyline as evening arrives.

The Journey to One&Only The Palm

The resort is on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah. A prearranged transfer is a convenient choice, especially after a long flight; licensed taxis also provide road access.

  • From Dubai International Airport (DXB): Allow approximately 45–60 minutes by private transfer or taxi, with additional time during heavier traffic.

  • From Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi (AUH): Allow approximately 70–90 minutes by private transfer or taxi under normal conditions.

A scheduled boat connection links the resort with One&Only Royal Mirage during a stay. The final road approach follows the Palm’s crescent, so build in a margin for restaurant reservations or onward flights. Our team can coordinate arrival and departure transport alongside the stay.

The Skyline Can Wait

One&Only The Palm offers a particular way to experience Dubai: close enough to enjoy the city, with enough space and separation to choose when to join it. The strongest stays make use of both sides of that relationship. A morning among the older neighborhoods, dinner devoted to French technique, and a day spent between garden and beach give the visit range without sacrificing its sense of rest. Across the water, the skyline remains part of the view; the pace belongs to you.
